Master observer and stargazer to speak on sketching astronomical observations
The Rio Rancho Astronomical Society will host its regular monthly meeting on Jan. 12 at Rainbow Park Observatory (Behind Rainbow Pool).
As part of the meeting, master observer and stargazer Kevin McKowenfor will speak on sketching astronomical observations. McKowenfor has stargazed for more than 50 years.
Sketching astronomical observations can help people understand what they are gazing at more. People use it for the moon, stars and even deep star gazing at times.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Telescopes will be available for public stargazing after the meeting, weather permitting.
