Vincent Trujillo, about 45, of Albuquerque, was summoned for battery against a household member, larceny and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle Dec. 6 in the 1200 block of Monterrey Road.

Officers responded to a call of a woman saying her boyfriend had struck her in the head before stealing her vehicle. She said she and Trujillo had argued about the use of her Toyota Camry. She refused to let Trujillo take her vehicle for the day as she had her own business to conduct.

As she sat on the foot of the bed, Trujillo struck her from behind by an unknown object, causing her to fall forward onto the ground. He said that he was going to the garage to remove the car’s battery so that he could pour acid onto the car and onto the caller. Police thought he was unsuccessful in his attempt and instead chose to take the vehicle and flee the scene.

She also said Trujillo had her Samsung phone and i-watch.

The caller appeared to be suffering from the injury to the back right side of her head but refused medical service. She reported her vehicle as stolen and filed for an order of protection.

Officers were unable to contact Trujillo.

If convicted, he faces three to nine years in jail.
