Jeremiah Espinoza, about 28, of Alcalde, was summoned for criminal damage to property and two counts of disorderly conduct Sept. 30 at Smoke World on Southern Blvd.

Officers responded to a criminal damage call at Smoke World around 5:40 p.m., where the manager said that she was working there with another employee at around 3:40 p.m. when a man came into the store asking about the merchandise. He then became irate for no reason and called the employee a vulgar name, at which point he was asked to leave.

The manager said the male then started to act even more disorderly and was making a scene in the store. She started to record the man with her cellphone, and as she did the male said his name was Jeremiah Espinoza. The manager said he exited the store and struck the front window with his hand, breaking it. She said he got into a truck and left at around 3:47 p.m.

Officers looked at the video the manager had taken and it was consistent with her statement. They also saw a “spider-wide style” crack in the large, tempered front window valued at $1,000.

The other employee who witness the incident confirmed the manager’s story.

If convicted, Espinoza could face a year in prison.
