A man accused of rape was sentenced to more than seven years after taking a plea deal last week.
According to court records, Patrick Barber, 51, of Sandoval County, was sentenced Aug. 23 for criminal sexual penetration, aggravated battery against a household member and false imprisonment.
All of his criminal counts will run consecutively for 7 1/2 years with an additional year in Sandoval County Detention Center. Barber will then serve supervised probation for anywhere from five to 20 years.
Barber is also required to stay away from the victim.
