Man arrested for DWI crash near RR
ALBUQUERQUE — A man has been arrested for driving while intoxicated, resulting in one person’s severe injury at the intersection of Coors Bypass and Ellison Drive, Albuquerque Police Department announced Oct. 12.
APD officers arrested Seth Mitchell, 26, for causing a crash that critically injured another driver. The crash caused Coors to be closed near Rio Rancho.
Officers responded to the crash at 3:12 a.m., a release states.
“Through the investigation, officers determined a white Honda was driving west on Ellison through the intersection with Coors on a green light. A white Ford work van traveled southbound on Coors at a high rate of speed, ran through a red light, and smashed into the Honda, causing it to flip multiple times,” it reads.
The driver of the Honda was critically injured and transported to the hospital.
Mitchell could face more than a year and a half if he is convicted.
