Charles Deline, 30, of Rio Rancho, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property, interference with communications and two counts of battery on the 1700 block of Darlene Road.

Officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to a domestic disturbance. The caller said their roommates were fighting. The caller said someone was armed with a knife and a pole.

When officers arrived, they talked to the victims. The first victim said he was asleep when he was woken up by his other two roommates fighting. He saw Deline striking his female roommate in the face, so he called 911. Deline saw the victim with the phone, grabbed it and smashed it on the ground. Deline then entered the victim’s room and started punching him in the face. The victim was attended by EMS.

The other victim, the woman, said she was awakened by Deline. He was questioning her about his phone. She said she didn’t know where it was. At that point, Deline started punching and slapping her in the face. She was seen by EMS.

A third victim said he was also questioned about the phone. He also didn’t know where it was. He said Deline punched him in the face and then hit him in the arm with a tire iron. EMS also looked at him.

Deline was taken into custody and read his rights, but he refused to speak with officers.

At most, Deline will face a year and a half in prison if he is convicted.
