Level 2.5 quake felt in Rio Rancho

Confirmed by Volcano Discovery, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake was felt in Rio Rancho at around 9:30 am Sept. 10.

According to the discovery website, a small quake might have occurred near San Felipe de Neri, New Mexico.

"A light magnitude 2.5 earthquake hit 14.5 km (9 mi) away from San Felipe de Neri, New Mexico,United States, in the morning of Tuesday, Sep 10, 2024 at 9.36 am local time (America/Denver GMT -6). The quake had a very shallow depth of 10.1 km (6 mi) and wasfelt widely in the area," it reads in an update at 11:02 am.

According to the website, San Felipe de Neri has had 90 quakes of magnitudes of up to 4.7 within 63 miles away since 1970.
