Intel announced its annual corporate responsibility report to the public on May 20.

The Intel New Mexico Community Investment Report provides a snapshot of how Intel is innovating and investing in New Mexico. Previously known as RISE, the Community Investment Report is a snapshot of Intel’s recent New Mexico efforts, Intel’s local spending and economic impact, investments in workforce development and education, sustainability initiatives, and how Intel is addressing important community needs.

Earlier this year, Intel celebrated the opening of Fab 9, a milestone in its more than $4 billion investment in the state that equips operations for the manufacturing of Intel’s advanced packaging technologies. With that announcement, the Rio Rancho site is now Intel’s leading advanced packaging hub — and Intel’s only U.S. high-volume provider of advanced packaging.

Some highlights of the report include:

  • $300 million in spending with New Mexico-based organizations in 2023.

  • 6,000 estimated total New Mexico jobs supported by Intel’s operations.

  • $1.2 billion Intel’s estimated annual economic impact in New Mexico.

  • 900-plus hands-on STEM learning kits from Explora funded by Intel since 2020, which have been used to engage students living on Indigenous lands and in rural communities.

  • More than 130 million gallons of water restored by Intel-funded projects in 2023 to support New Mexico’s water resources.

  • 100% of Intel New Mexico’s electricity use covered by renewable electricity purchases.

  • 8,800-plus hours Intel New Mexico employees and retirees donated to New Mexico nonprofits and schools in 2023.

  • $1.6 million in total charitable contributions from Intel, the Intel Foundation and Intel employees to New Mexico nonprofits and schools in 2023.

  • 240-plus New Mexico teachers, schools and nonprofits supported by Intel and its employees in 2023.

  • Intel hired 581 employees in 2023, 396 of which were New Mexico residents. That’s the most hires in one year since 2000.
