RIO RANCHO — From Jan. 13 through October 2025, Idalia Road will be closed in both directions from Cliff Drive to Baranca Drive, according to a Dec. 17 announcement from the city of Rio Rancho.

The announcement goes on to say the project will last from as little as six months to as long as October 2025.

According to rrnm.gov, the project entails the demolition of a small portion of Idalia to replace old, existing corrugated metal pipe culverts and concrete headwalls, construct new concrete box culverts and concrete headwalls, construct upstream and downstream erosion protection, and lastly, to backfill and reconstruct Idalia Road.

The project funding is a combination of city funds (approximately $420,000) and federal funds (approximately $2,480,000).
