Hit and run turns into assault charges for Rio Rancho man

RIO RANCHO — Levi Barden, 34, of Rio Rancho, was summoned Dec. 9 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at Rainbow Pool.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Rio Rancho Police Department, officers responded to the pool for a hit and run Dec. 2 with the caller telling them that Barden purposefully attempted to run him over with his Subaru.
Police note that damage to the vehicles on scene displayed that Barden took a path directly towards the caller’s door.
If convicted Barden, will face a year and a half in prison.
