Listen to the weatherThis weekend will be warming up as the temperature reaches 70 on Sunday but Albuquerque National Weather Service says Monday won’t be as calm.

“The period of tranquil weather ends this Sunday as wind speeds begin to increase along and east of the central mountain chain. Breezy winds combined with a very dry airmass will result in critical fire weather conditions in the eastern plains and northeast highlands where rapid fire spread is possible. Winds are projected to increase areawide Monday and Tuesday as a Pacific storm system approaches the region. Strong to damaging westerly wind gusts in excess of 50 mph will create hazardous crosswinds on north to south oriented roadways and areas of blowing dust where soil is dry,” it says.
