Culbreath hosts meet 'n' greet with constituents

The city of Rio Rancho has hosted Councilor Meet ‘n’ Greet events throughout summer.
Each city councilor has hosted or will be hosting an event for their district with free ice cream, games, activities and demonstrations by city staff for all ages.
On Sept. 4, it was District 5 Councilor Karissa Culbreath’s turn.
Culbreath hosted her event at Chianti Park and drew a big crowd, which included dozens of constituents, Mayor Gregg Hull, City Councilor Deb Dapson and state senate candidate Amina Everett.
“I think having these events and getting out and talking to people in the community, really it's about bringing city resources to the community,” Culbreath said. “So it's not just about me as a city councilor, it's having all of the city resources, city staff, all of the wonderful things that our city does and bringing them to the people so they can know what we do and how to get questions answered from any of our amazing staff and then, of course, anything I can do to help to answer that as well.”
Culbreath was appointed to her seat by Hull in 2020 and was elected to a four-year term in March 2022.
Culbreath holds a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Vanderbilt University. She is medical director of infectious diseases at Tricore Reference Laboratories and associate professor of pathology at University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
The schedule for remaining the Meet ‘n’ Greet events is:
• District 2 Councilor Jeremy Lenentine: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at Havasu Park, 3535 Havasu Falls St. NE.
• District 3 Councilor Bob Tyler: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Mountain View Park, 6441 Grayson Hills Drive NE.
