Two Albuquerque residents were arrested on June 6 at Natural Grocers, NM 528 and East Lake Road.

The man, identified as Nicholas Roupp, was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen credit card and shoplifting. The woman who was with him, identified as Sydney Suggett, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Rio Rancho Police Department, a stolen Toyota Camry was seen traveling west on Southern Blvd.

Officers located the car at the Natural Grocers and unoccupied. Officers checked with employees to find the suspects.

Police were able to intercept Roupp and Suggett at the door. Both were placed into investigative custody. As they were being escorted out, they dropped several items which the store staff confirmed they did not pay for.

Roupp admitted to the charges and having meth in the car but Suggett refused to talk to officers. They did, however find fentanyl in her purse.

Roupp, if convicted, could face 15 years for possession of a stolen credit card, 18 months for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, one year for possession of a controlled substance and 6 months for shoplifting. That would be 18 years total.

Suggett could face the same sentence if she assisted in any of the theft.
