County approves continuum of care grant agreements
Sandoval County Community Services requested the county commission's approval for the Continuum of Care Program grant agreements Sept. 11.
The grants are made by and between the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Sandoval County.
It is important for the county to approve them because they have fiscal impact for permanent supportive housing division.
"This is a grant we ask for from the state for economic development planning," Deputy County Manager John Garcia said.
"There's a few of these. The state's issued a lot of grants lately, and this is just one of the few."
He says the grants will go toward work with local entities such as Intel.
The first grant benefits rental assistance in the amount of $123,000. The second is also largely rental assistance in the amount of $233,088.
