Cops summon woman for taking someone else’s prescription
Meredith Crowley, about 40, of Rio Rancho, was summoned Feb. 1 by municipal court for petty larceny, conversion, embezzlement, and fraud at Walgreens on Southern Blvd. and NM 528.
Officers responded to Walgreens in reference to a woman taking another customer’s prescription medication from the counter.
Officers made contact with an employee of Walgreens, who called dispatch. They said a regular customer was seen picking up a bag containing prescription medication belonging to another and placing it in her purse. She walked around the store before going up to the pharmacy counter, where she was confronted by an employee that witnessed her place the bag in her purse. Crowley denied taking the prescription medication off the counter, but then quickly reached in her purse, returning the medication to employees.
She left the store without further incident and the employee called to make a police report. The person that the prescription belonged to is unknown.
