Commission approves firefighters union agreement
BERNALILLO — The Sandoval County Commission approved the collective bargaining agreement for Fiscal Year 206 between Sandoval County and the Sandoval County Professional Firefighters Association May 27.
“The purpose of this agreement is to maintain harmonious relations between the County and the Union, to provide terms and conditions of employment for employees covered hereunder and to provide a means of amicable and equitable resolution of any and all differences or grievances which may arise under the provisions of this agreement, all of which the parties hereto believe and affirm will assure the welfare and benefit of the people of Sandoval County,” the resolution cover page reads.
The highlight of the agreement are raises for all fire department members, according to interim County Fire Chief Chris Bagley.
He said all negotiations took place in good faith, taking no credit for himself.
“Former Chief (Eric) Masterson and (others) did all the heavy lifting,” he said.
