Cleveland student found with empty gun clip at school

RIO RANCHO — A student at V. Sue Cleveland was found with an empty gun clip this morning.

According to Rio Rancho Public Schools PIO Wyndham Kemsley, security officers conducted a search of a student Nov. 17 after they received a report of a possible weapon on campus.

Both RRPS and Rio Rancho Police Department confirmed no firearms or any other weapons were uncovered.

"After a thorough investigation, district security staff have determined that there was no threat made by the student in question against the school," Kemsley stated.

RRPD also confirmed the incident is still going on and can provide limited information. More information will be added as it becomes available.
