City takes registration for Great American Cleanup
One city council hopeful is guaranteed a seat on the Governing Body, which meets here in City Hall: District 2’a Jeremy Lenentine is running without opposition on March 3.
The City of Rio Rancho’s Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful Division invites volunteers of all ages to take part in this year’s Great American Cleanup.
The annual litter-removal event set to take place from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 7.
“This nationwide event is an ideal opportunity for schools, businesses, civic groups, neighborhood and service organizations and individuals to contribute to the well-being of their community,” according to a news release from the city.
Activities include cleaning public lands, roads, illegal dumpsites, vacant lots, school campuses and parks. Call (505) 896-8729 or visit rrnm.gov/GAC to register or for more information. Cleanup sites will be assigned to groups upon registration confirmation.
Also, county residents can use the Sandoval County landfill for free from 8 a.m. to noon May 21. Proof of residency required.
