The city of Rio Rancho hosted its first of six Councilor Meet ‘n’ Greet events Saturday.

Each city councilor will be hosting an event for their district with free ice cream, games, activities and demonstrations by city staff for all ages this summer.

On June 8, Councilor Nicole List kicked off the events at Rio Vista Park.

A big crowd came through the park throughout the afternoon to meet List and enjoy the event, which also featured booths and activities from Rio Rancho Police Department and Rio Rancho Fire and Rescue.

“I think today was a great day. The weather was beautiful. I really appreciated everyone who came out,” List said. “It was a great way to meet members of the community. Thanks to the city staff and their efforts to make this happen. I encourage everyone to look out for their councilor meet and greets happening in the months ahead. It was a great day.”
