The city of Rio Rancho will be hosting Councilor Meet ‘n’ Greet events throughout summer.

Each city councilor will be hosting an event for their district with free ice cream, games, activities and demonstrations by city staff for all ages.

On July 20, it was District 1 Councilor Deb Dapson’s turn.

Dapson hosted her event at Rainbow Pool and drew a big crowd, including Mayor Gregg Hull, city councilors Nicole List and Paul Wymer and Rio Rancho Police chief Stewart Steele.

“It's pretty good. We've had a pretty good turnout,” Dapson said. “The Summer Meet ‘n Greet is an exciting opportunity to meet and have a chance to talk with the residents in my district. The event is great for people of all ages.”

Dapson was elected as District 1 City Councilor in April via a runoff election. As a new City Councilor, Dapson said it’s important for her to get out in the community and meet her constituents.

Dapson and her husband have lived in Rio Rancho for 15 years. She is a mother to three grown children and grandmother to three.

Dapson owns Copper Moon Media, a small business in Rio Rancho that specializes in graphic design and digital marketing. She is also a former president of the Kiwanis Club and chair of Association of Women in Communications Program Committee.

The schedule for remaining the Meet ‘n’ Greet events is:
