Chill Zone School Supply giveaway set for July 31

The 2024-25 school year is inching closer, and The Chill Zone is helping parents and students get ready by handing out free school supplies.

The Chill Zone, Diaz Landscaping and Diaz RV and Marine Storage will hold the sixth annual Back-To-School Supplies Distribution July 31 at The Chill Zone.

From 10 a.m. to noon, students can stop by for a tasty, custom frozen yogurt and grab a backpack full of supplies for the upcoming school year.

In 2023, 300 backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out by the end of the event.

“We just love to give back to the community,” Elaine Diaz said. “My two young boys said, ‘Why don’t we give out school supplies?’”

Diaz purchases most of the supplies with some others being donated by Joanna Boothe from State Farm. The annual event started with 80-100 backpacks and has grown each year since.
