Bernalillo police arrest man wearing orange MDC jumpsuit
Raymond Hoogerhuis, 45, of Albuquerque, was arrested April 10 for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property, breaking and entering, disorderly conduct and concealing identity in the 600 block of Calle San Felipe in Bernalillo.
Bernalillo police received a report of a homeless person wearing an orange jumpsuit hitting a car with a brick who then broke into a car and drove off down an alley.
One witness said she was inside her house when she heard some noise outside and her dogs were barking. She said she saw a man with a bottle in his hand jumping fences toward her house. He then threw the bottle and started yelled that he was going to kill someone as he was rattling her fence and cussing.
Another witness saw Hoogerhuis hitting his car, break the car window and enter through it. Hoogerhuis also threw a rock at him, striking him on the left side of his head, which sent the witness to a hospital.
Officers found Hoogerhuis, who was wearing orange pants stamped with MDC, walking on San Lorenzo and arrested him. He declined to speak with officers and refused to tell them who he was when they were booking him.
If convicted, he will face 4 1/2 years in jail.
