'Bandit in Black' strikes again in Albuquerque

The "Bandit in Black," wanted for robbing an Albuquerque bank July 5, is also wanted for a July 3 robbery in Albuquerque.

The FBI and Rio Rancho Police Department are asking the public for assistance in identifying the "Bandit in Black" after he robbed the New Mexico Bank & Trust, 4001 Southern Blvd., July 5 and the Bank of Albuquerque at 6530 Paradise Blvd. at about 4 p.m. July 3.

He entered the bank waving a black handgun and demanded money from the teller, just like he did in the Rio Rancho incident. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall and medium build and is known for dressing all in black: shoes, pants, hoodie, gloves and mask and face covering.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect. Those with information about either robbery are asked to contact the FBI at 505-889-1300. Information about other bank robbers wanted by the FBI can be found at bankrobbers.fbi.gov.

Bank robbery carries a prison term of up to 20 years with the use of a gun adding up to five years to the term.
