The FBI and Rio Rancho Police Department are asking for information on the "Bandit in Black," who robbed the New Mexico Bank & Trust in Rio Rancho Friday afternoon.

The FBI and Rio Rancho Police Department are asking the public for assistance in identifying the "Bandit in Black" after he robbed the New Mexico Bank & Trust, 4001 Southern Blvd., Friday afternoon.

At about 4:25 p.m., the suspect entered the bank waving a black handgun and demanding money to the teller. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

The 6-foot male with medium build was wearing all black: shoes, pants, hoodie, gloves and mask covering his entire face.

Those with information about the robbery are asked to contact the FBI at 505-889-1300; a $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction. Information about other bank robbers wanted by the FBI can be found at bankrobbers.fbi.gov.

Bank robbery carries a prison term of up to 20 years with the use of a gun adding up to five years to the term.
