Jorge Castillo, 40, of Rio Rancho, was arrested March 24 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 600 block of Chaps Road.

A caller reported an armed man in their front yard who was pointing a gun at a father, who told police his son is having an ongoing altercation with two other juvenile borthers.

One of the brothers and the son got into the altercation over the brother accusing the son of sexually assaulting his girlfriend. The son didn't give many details, only that he was getting bullied at school and the brother was mad because he called his girlfriend a name. The altercation was on and off, according to the filed complaint. Allegedly, the two took each other's shoes.

The son showed police threatening messages from the brother on Snapchat from that day. It read, "put my shoes in the driveway if you wanna see your family." Then another message read, "bangbang."

Later that day, the father and son were approached by two men while they were outside their home. The father said one of the men was holding a gun behind his back. The man told the son to go get the shoes and the son complied while the father remained outside with the men.

The man with the gun at one point raised the gun to his side and pointed it in the direction of the father.

When police left to talk with the men and the juveniles at their home, the truck that the men were driving was pulled over on the way. Castillo was identified as the man with the gun and arrested.

Castillo said he was at the father and son's house but that he never pointed the gun at anyone.
