Michelle Debari, about 53, of Rio Rancho, was issued an arrest warrant Oct. 9 for robbery at a residence in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue.

A day earlier, officers were called there on a report of a domestic incident in which the caller, Debari, maced a man and put him in a body lock. However, she fled the scene as officers arrived.

The victim denied medical attention though he said he was in pain from the mace. He said he had lived at the home for more than three months with Debari and that they were in “some kind of intimate relationship.”

The victim said that he was entering the residence through the back sliding door like he usually does when Debari grabbed him and then maced him while screaming, “Get the f— out of my house.” Debari then took his wallet and all three pairs of his shoes before leaving.

Debari said she was going to her parent’s house in Albuquerque and admitted to having the victim’s wallet and shoes but said she had paid for them. Debari added that the victim was a backpacker that was going to burn her house down.

Debari could face up to nine years in prison if she is found and convicted.
