PHOTOS: Runners take on the 4th of July heat

Run Fit hosted its annual Fourth of July fun run Thursday morning and, despite the heat, runners trudged on in Rio Rancho.
As runners crossed the finish line at Loma Colorado park, they sighed with relief and individual victory.
Though some dressed in patriotic support, others dressed to stay cool. It helped that runners were treated to ice cream and cool water at the end.

The next run will be the Lavender Run in Albuquerque.
