About 1,000 people turned out for Star Wars Fest Saturday, April 15, at Lomo Colorado Main Library. The day featured a variety of activities, including a droid factory, Baby Yoda adoptions, pool noodle light sabres and more. Additionally about 30 members of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion, part of international organizations that celebrate the franchise through costumed appearances and charity work, were also in attendance. Several attendees and library staff members also opted to dress for the occasion. It was the ninth time the city of Rio Rancho and Information Services Department coordinated Star Wars Fest, though it was the first one since January 2020.
