There were two events in Rio Rancho Saturday that helped families get an early start to celebrating Easter.
The City of Rio Rancho held its popular Eggs ‘N Beggin event at Campus Park. Pets were able to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, take part in a pet parade and costume contest and received Easter baskets filled with treats. There was also an adopt-a-thon featuring animals from all over the state finding homes.
On the other side of town, hundreds gathered at Haynes Park for an Eggstravaganza community outreach and fundraising event hosted by Haven House.
There was an egg hunt for kids. The event featured New Mexico Avengers, Star Car Central’s Bat Mobile and Mystery Machine, the Easter Bunny, a photo booth, vendors, games activities and other children’s entertainment. The event brought awareness about children in domestic violence situations and all proceeds went to Haven House and the victims of domestic violence that are served.
