World Wrestling Entertainment is putting on a live show at the Rio Rancho Events Center on April 15.

The show, billed at Saturday Night’s Main Event, begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature many of the superstars who recently took part in WrestleMania 39, which drew 161,892 fans over the two-night event in Los Angeles.

Wrestlers advertised for the Rio Rancho show include: Cody Rhodes, Braun Strowman and Ricochet, The Usos, Bianca Belair, Asuka, Carmella, Piper Niven, The Street Profits, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, Rhea Ripley, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Charlotte Flair and Dominik Mysterio, who wrestled against his father Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania in match that saw music star Bad Bunny get involved in the action.

The match card hasn’t been announced, but Dominik Mysterio said he is wrestling Santos Escobar, a high-flyer who, like Dominik, is a Mexican second-generation wrestler, in Rio Rancho.

The younger Mysterio told the Observer Thursday that while he’s performed in New Mexico a few times before, he’s especially excited for this show, which will be his first appearance in Rio Rancho as a bad guy.

“I’m really looking forward to it, especially with the New Mexico crowd there,” Mysterio said.

Mysterio has been working as a heel with The Judgement Day, an evil group that also includes Balor, Priest and Ripley, who won the Smackdown women’s championship at WrestleMania, since turning on his father in September 2022.

“It’s been a lot of fun working with Rhea, Finn and Damien,” Mysterio said. “They just make it easy to go out there and have fun. Especially going out there and beating my dad up. I’m sure that’s very kid’s dream.”

Mysterio got to live another dream on April 1 at WrestleMania, when he was driven to the ring in a prison transport van and entered in shackles to wrestle his dad. The entrance was a play on an angle that had Mysterio spending a night in jail for attacking his dad on Christmas Eve. “Prison Dom” drew loud boos from the 80,000-plus fans in L.A., but it was something he’ll never forget.

“It was really special to have my own entrance at WrestleMania,” Mysterio said. “That’s a really special moment.”

The match with his dad ended poorly for Dominik as Bad Bunny prevented Priest from hitting Rey with a chain. Rey Mysterio soon after pinned his son. Two nights later on Monday Night Raw, Dominik Mysterio confronted Bad Bunny and was punched in the face by the popular recording artist.

“Getting punched in the face by Bad Bunny is amazing,” Mysterio said.

Mysterio said he hopes to get taste some authentic New Mexican food while he’s in town; he’s either a Christmas or a red guy, and he’s hoping the crowd is hotter than the chile.

“People in New Mexico need to come out and see the show because I’m going to put another beating on Santos Escobar,” Mysterio said. “The Judgement Day is going to continue to take over. You have to watch it because if not, you’re missing out on seeing the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. It’s going to be a lot of fun out there, New Mexico.”
