What's up this weekend? A look at what's going on around Sandoval County Nov. 15-17
1. Rio Rancho High School’s community service project “Big Event” is coming Nov. 16.
RRHS Big Event project is a day where students help senior citizens in need of yard work and small home improvement jobs. RRHS’s Big Event is in its 16th year, and this year, the hope is to gather 700 students to help 100 households in the community.

“Even if you aren’t a student here at Rio Rancho High School, participate. It’s good for our community,” RRHS senior class vice president Serenity Luna said.
2. In partnership with the Coronado Historic Site, Martha Liebert Public Library is offering a “Ranger Read and Learn” story time Nov. 16.
The book being read is “Gobble, Gobble: One Year in the Life of a Wild Turkey” by Cathryn Falwell. The respective ranger will then discuss how people lived at Kuaua and the Jemez Pueblos and how they domesticated wild turkeys and used their feathers.
The Ranger Read and Learn is free and open to all ages and will run from 10-11 a.m.
During a Ranger Read and Learn, a ranger from Coronado Historic Site will read a story, talk to those in attendance, and engage in a assortment of activities.
Martha Liebert Public Library is located at 124 Calle Malinche, Bernalillo.
3. People will be able to get some holiday shopping done at the annual Sandoval County Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the county administration building.
Santa Claus will visit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., during which attendees are invited to take photos with Santa. More than 30 vendors are participating, and shoppers can find everything from food delicacies to jewelry and toys to clothing and more.
Ample parking is available. Shoppers are encouraged to have cash available for purchases.
The event is hosted by the The Sandoval County Employee Appreciation Committee.

4. The Air1 Worship Now Tour will make a stop at the Rio Rancho Events Center at 7 p.m. Nov. 17.
The groups performing will be Crowder, We The Kingdom, CAIN, Passion, Jon Reddick and Louie Giglio.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
5. The state’s top volleyball teams will be in town through Saturday for the New Mexico Athletic Association State Volleyball Championship, which will be held at the Rio Rancho Events Center, Rio Rancho High School, Cleveland High School and Bernalillo High School.
