Los Lonely Boys

Los Lonely Boys will perform with The Turnpike Troubadours Nov. 9 at the Rio Rancho Events Center.

RIO RANCHO — The Turnpike Troubadours and Los Lonely Boys will take the stage at the Rio Rancho Events Center Nov. 9.

The Turnpike Troubadours, “the Oklahoma kinds of Red Dirt music,” according to a press release, have returned from a 2019 three-year hiatus more popular than ever. Their most recent album, “A Cat in the Rain,” features 10 songs “in a tale of reliability, rebirth and redemption. It’s the story of brothers ... who ran the gauntlet of success, scrutiny, and even personal troubles and would fight tooth and nail for one another.”

On Friday, Los Lonely Boys were announced as the opening act for the Turnpike Troubadours.

The Grammy-winning trio emerged in 1996 and have produced the gold-certified hit “Heaven,” which also won a Grammy for “Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.” Their albums include “Sacred,” “Forgiven,” “Rocpango,” and “Revelation.” The trio has collaborated with Santana, Willie Nelson and Dr. John and have performed at the World Series and CMT’s Crossroads.

Like the Turnpike Troubadours, Los Lonely Boys took a break in 2019, coming back on the scene when The Who invited them to open a string of shows around Cinco de Mayo in 2022, after which they began writing, recording and touring again.

Tickets for the Nov. 9 show are available at ticketmaster.com.
