After a long, COVID-related absence, the Senior Living Expo Event is returning next week.

First held in 2019 at the Albuquerque Journal Center in 2019, the expo was very successful. The 2024 event promises to be bigger than ever.

The 2024 Senior Living Expo Event is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March. 28, at the Rio Rancho Events Center, 3001 Civic Center Circle NE. Entrance will be on the east side of the complex.

A partnership between the Rio Rancho Observer and the Albuquerque Journal, the Senior Living Expo promises to be an informative and engaging affair, tailored to the needs and interests of senior citizens. Attendees will have access to valuable resources designed to enhance their quality of life.

The free, one-day Expo will feature vendor booths, speakers and all-day entertainment.

“This Senior Living Expo will be a great way to find out information regarding products and services offered to seniors throughout the Rio Rancho and Albuquerque areas,” Wayne Barnard, advertising director Albuquerque Journal, Rio Rancho Observer, Valencia County News-Bulletin and Socorro’s El Defensor Chieftain, said. “The venue helps make this information readily available, especially for services that seniors may not know exist.”

There will be more than 30 vendors ranging from health care services, financial services, insurance, vision, legal, hearing, furniture and many more businesses to offer goods and services to community seniors. There will be food at the concession stand, along with speakers from many of the participating vendors.

“Every year, the Albuquerque Journal and the Rio Rancho Observer publish senior tabloids and magazines,” Barnard said. “We decided to have our first event since COVID so individuals and community members could come together for some fun and gain knowledge and resources supporting senior well-being.”The vendors scheduled to be on-site include French Funerals & Cremations, AARP, ClearSky Rehabilitation, Corley’s Albuquerque Lincoln, Fat Tire Cycles, Humana, Juliette Eye Institute, La-Z-Boy Furniture Company, Lovato Law, P.C., Low Vision of New Mexico, PC, Meals On Wheels, The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho Life Plan Community, La Vida Llena Life Plan Retirement Community, Molly Maid, New Mexico Cancer Center, New Mexico Hearing Aid & Tinnitus Center, Optum, Overture Andalucia, Retina Consultants, Rio Metro Regional Transit NM, Sandia Area Federal Credit Union, Southwest Gastroenterology, Sutin, Thayer & Browne, APC, Twisted Stitches, Argon Moss George Jenkins Law Firm, Morada Quintessence Assisted Living Home, Amazing Grace Personal Care Services, Advanced Healthcare of Albuquerque, X-Ray Associates and ECO Electric.“The first Senior Expo was in 2019. It was time to try one post-COVID.”
