Movies under the stars to look forward to
The city of Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is still hosting its Movies Under the Stars this summer.
“The city invites citizens of all ages to join their neighbors, families and friends and spend summer Friday nights at area parks enjoying free movies outdoors. All movies will take place on Friday nights at either Campus Park or Cabezon Park,” the city website says.
The showing of the movie “42” was canceled due to weather, but there are three more movie nights at Cabezon Park through September.
There will also be the live-action “Lady and the Tramp” on Aug. 18 and “Lyle Lyle Crocodile” on Sept. 15.
The next one will be the Steven Spielberg film “E.T.” on July 28. Movies start at dusk, and the city will allow blankets, folding chairs and picnic baskets. Onsite restrooms are available. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted.
If there is inclement weather, including wind and lightning, the event will be cancelled. Weather cancellations will be made one hour prior to the start of the event. Movies and music are subject to change.
