Pets of Corrales once again have a chance to rule the land as the pet mayor race begins this summer.
The village of Corrales is hosting its annual race starting July 1 and running through September, and applications for candidates are currently being accepted. Pets of all kinds, including llamas, hedgehogs, goats, dogs, horses and more have tried for the seat in the past and are encouraged to do so again.
There is a no charge to enter the race, although the election raises funds via the voting process. All money raised from the election, which is part of the Corrales Harvest Festival, benefits the Corrales Animal Services organization.
To apply, visit the Corrales Harvest Festival’s website. Applications can also be emailed to tracy.stabenow@gmail.com or mailed to Pet Mayor Election, 4 Acoma Trail, Corrales, NM, 87048.
