Chamber gears up for annual Oktoberfest
BERNALILLO — The annual Oktoberfest held by the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce is set for 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 20.
The chamber posted that the event will return to the Sandoval County Administration Park on Idalia Road.
Sept. 20 traditionally marks the beginning of Oktoberfest in Germany, according to a Facebook post by the chamber.
“Live Music by Die Polk Schlingel Band. Come together and enjoy this wonderful community event!” it reads.
As is standard, the event will include beer and wine tasting for adults age 21 and older. It will also include a kids’ zone and dozens of local businesses and vendors from the area.
“Oktoberfest specials including beer releases, delicious German foods, and music. Vendors, arts and crafts, food trucks and family fun will be available!” the chamber website adds.
Some of the local businesses highlighted in this year’s event include Dagmar’s German Specialties and local brew pub Turtle Mountain.
