Severe outage takes out Corrales and parts of RR

UPDATE 5:00 p.m.- PNM has released a statement that they will not be able to address all power outages today. "Crews are working as safely and quickly as possible to restore power to all customers impacted by an outage. Some customers may experience prolonged outages due to ongoing weather conditions and the large number of outages," it reads.

Thousands of people don't have electricity in Corrales and parts of Rio Rancho.

According to the PNM outage map Nov. 7, all of Corrales is experiencing a severe outage from its Rio Rancho entrance to its Albuquerque exit as of 11 a.m.

The outage map indicates the issue will be resolved by about noon. Calls of outages started at about 6 a.m.

The map indicates that near 5,000 people were impacted.

PNM issued a statement saying the outages are due to the winter storm.

"A severe winter storm is causing widespread power outages across the state. Crews are working as safely and quickly as possible to restore power to all customers impacted by an outage. Some customers may experience prolonged outages due to ongoing weather conditions and the large number of outages. We know any time without power is frustrating.
