Heartstrings Theatre Company, based in Corrales, announced its upcoming production of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," based on the children’s book by Roald Dahl.

The performance is part of the theatre's School Day Series, which will allow schools opportunity to bring students for an "unforgettable field trip" at 10 a.m. Oct. 25.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this School Day Series to life,” said Somer Sloan Corey, artistic director of Heartstrings Theatre Company. “It’s a wonderful way to immerse young audiences in the world of 'Fantastic Mr. Fox,' and to connect their classroom reading with the stage.”

Heartstrings is also offering a sensory-friendly performance at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 26, which designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities, first-time theatre-goers and families with small children. The performance will feature adjustments to sound, lighting and the overall environment to create a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for all. To further enhance the experience, sensory packs provided by the New Mexico Autism Society will be available for audience members who need them.

“Our sensory-friendly show allows everyone to experience the joy of live theatre,” Sloan Corey added. “Thanks to the New Mexico Autism Society’s support with sensory packs, we are able to make this a welcoming environment for all attendees.”

"Fantastic Mr. Fox" will also have public performances at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25-26 in addition to the sensory-friendly production. All performances will be held at New City Church, 4700 San Mateo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. After each show, families can join in on Mr. Fox’s Fantastic Fiesta, featuring music, candy and fun activity stations for children of all ages.
