Corrales Speaker Series: A master Corrales photographer shares book
CORRALES — As part of the Corrales Historical Society Speaker Series, Dennis Chamberlain, a master photographer, will share his published work March 23 at the Old Church.
According to a press release, “Eighteen Years in the Village — A Photographic Tour of Corrales, New Mexico” is a collection of his works and experiences in Corrales.
“Dennis is a well-respected figure in the community. The current president of Corrales Arts Center, he has served as the past president of both the Corrales Bosque Gallery and the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico. His expertise lies in southwestern art photography, and he will share his journalistic approach to capturing the essence of this region,” the release states. “This event promises to be an enlightening and inspiring experience as Dennis describes the ‘stories behind the pictures.’”
It adds that Chamberlain received his first camera at age 7 from his father, a lifelong Eastman Kodak employee. In college, he worked late nights at Kodak, witnessing uncensored behind-the-scenes life and American scenes.
“These contrasts deepened his appreciation for life’s beauty and created a blend of reality and fiction in his art. Later, he became a serious photographer in New Mexico, where the spectacular landscapes inspired him to share his passions through photography,” it says.
The event is free, but seats are first-come, first-served. For more information visit corraleshistory.org.
