A new winery and bistro will open this fall near the border of Rio Rancho in Albuquerque.

D.H. Lescombes Winery & Bistro announced July 29 it would open where the Enchanted Falls Event Center & Cafe used to be situated near Coors and Alameda boulevards.

The Lescombes family, which started the winery and bistro, purchased the building and is working on a complete renovation in order to bring their local brand to guests in the nearby Albuquerque and Rio Rancho communities.

“We had been looking for the perfect site for a second location in Albuquerque,” said Brandon Young, CEO of Lescombes Family Vineyards.

The original location opened in Albuquerque Old Town in 2005.

“This is going to be a great fit for us, and we can hardly wait to open our doors,” Young said.

The new location, dubbed the "Cottonwood" location, will be between Rio Rancho and the Cottonwood Corners shopping complex.

“This is going to be another incredible place,” proprietor Florent Lescombes said.

The enthusiasm was shared by general manager Thomas Perez.

“I’ve been managing the Las Cruces location for many years, and I’m happy to be back home in Albuquerque," he said.

Perez added that he would miss that location but will be glad to go to Albuquerque.
