Veterans Bowling Tournament on for Sunday

The Veterans Business Support Coalition Back our Veterans Annual Bowling Tournament is happening from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Tenpins & More.

According to a release from the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, the event is one of three events that raises scholarship money for locally owned veteran businesses that are 3 years old or younger and have 15 employees or less.

"There are always ancillary costs that accrue when opening up a small business, so these scholarships go to help offset those costs. Last year we gave away two $1,500 scholarships to veteran-owned businesses, and this year we are hoping to double that number," RRRCC's Jaime Gallardo said.

He says teams of four will be competing for "bragging rights" as 2024’s VBSC bowling champion.

Raffle items will be available, and any donations that are made will go to this scholarship fund.

"Come on out and have some fun while supporting our locally owned veteran businesses," Gallardo said.
