Richmond American Homes is starting the Vista Montebella Community in southern Rio Rancho and celebrated the development with a ribbon cutting March 19.

“We really appreciate the fact that a couple years ago Richmond American Homes entered the New Mexico market and specifically the Rio Rancho market,” Mayor Gregg Hull said to Richmond associates as he presented them with a certificate.

Commissioners Dave Heil and Jay Block presented a certificate as well. Heil said Richmond homes increases property tax dollars which residents live on.

The Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, which provided the ribbon and scissors, also expressed appreciation for the corporation’s contributions to Rio Rancho.

“We’ve been working together for quite a while, and you guys just keep going,” President and CEO Jerry Schalow said, adding that the corporation is “the hottest-growing development” in the state.”

Richmond American Homes associates say the company is excited to be in Rio Rancho.

“We’re selling pretty quickly, more quickly than anticipated,” Larry Martinez said.

The Vista Montebella Community model homes will be available to tour in the fall, and a few floorplans available for viewing at richmondamerican.com.
