Rawroot Juice-Cafe finds brick-and-mortar at Cottonwood Mall
Rawroot Juice-Cafe owner Gerardo Chavez (wearing the hat) poses for a picture at his new location in Cottonwood Mall along with his wife, and his six kids.
RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho food truck Rawroot Juice-Cafe has found a new home at Cottonwood Mall and will offer shoppers a healthy and organic option for a quick drink or snack.
“Through the support of my lovely community in Rio Rancho — and surrounding areas — my family and I were able to grow our business into brick and mortar,” owner Gerardo Chavez said. “We are extremely excited to share that we will finally have a permanent location to serve our customers and offer a larger menu, fixed and stable hours and more variety of products.”
Rawroot Juice’s new space is located at the old Cinnabon location where the TV show “Better Call Saul” shot some scenes.
“The main difference that exists, when not being inside the camper [food truck], is that there is no barrier with the clients ... the conversation, treatment and coexistence can be direct,” Chavez said.
Rawroot Juice uses fresh and organic fruit and veggies to make smoothie bowls, drinks, smoothies and pressed juices. Also on the menu are slushies, coffee, açaí bowls and other new products that will eventually be integrated into the menu.
“We will start with a simple menu and work with the needs and preferences of our clients,” Chavez said.
Some of the items on their menu include the Golden Hour drink (carrots, cucumber, ginger, turmeric), Hawaiian Sunrise smoothie (pineapple, strawberries, banana, orange juice), and the classic smoothie bowl (blueberry, strawberry, banana).
“It’s beautiful to see my family so involved in a passion of mine that I turned into a business. It’s due to their tremendous support — and team work on many occasions — that I am able to stand here today in a brick-and-mortar at the Cottonwood Mall,” Chavez said.
The new Rawroot Juice-Cafe location is anticipated to open at Cottonwood in early November.
“We can’t wait for all of our new Albuquerque and Rio Rancho community to come on down and support our small business,” Chavez said.
