PNM Announces Day of Service to help nonprofits
PNM Day of Service volunteers
PNM’s 2024 annual Day of Service is set for Thursday, Sept. 12.
The event will feature hundreds of PNM employees spending part of their day giving back to the community by volunteering at 32 charities and nonprofit organizations that support PNM customers.
More than 430 employees will be participating in PNM’s annual Day of Service, while the call center team will remain at PNM headquarters working with a nonprofit onsite.
“PNM is excited to enable our employees to follow their passion to help out in the communities we serve,” said Don Tarry, PNM president and CEO. “Whether it’s education, preserving and enhancing our environment, helping customers use energy more efficiently and safely, and promoting the economic vitality of our communities, dedicated PNM employees will be out in force to make a difference.”
Since 1917, PNM has been devoted to providing reliable and affordable electricity to its customers around the state. The annual Day of Service allows PNM to continue this tradition of service and show its commitment to customers and nonprofits in the communities it serves. In addition to PNM Day of Service, PNM continues its assistance to support communities in New Mexico throughout the entire year. In fact, PNM and its foundation contribute more than $4 million to nonprofit community organizations to sustain important work within communities it serves and advocates for its customers’ needs. Annually, hundreds of employees and retirees volunteer more than 9,000 virtual and in-person hours.
“Our goal for Day of Service is to provide a crew of enthusiastic volunteers to support nonprofits in our community, who in turn support our customers in a variety of ways. PNM employees will volunteer with the organizations they feel are in most need of their support,” said Laurie Roach, executive director of PNM Resources Foundation. “While PNM employees spend thousands of hours each year improving the communities they serve, Day of Service is a special time for each employee to share his or her passion by helping out at food banks, veteran reintegration centers, animal shelters, children’s advocacy groups and more.”
PNM Day of Service New Mexico recipients include dozens of organizations including: Mandy’s Farm, Paws & Stripes and Seed2Need in Corrales.
