Nomadic Nutrition celebrates first year of healthy alternatives
Nomadic Nutrition staff joined by Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce members, Mayor Greg Hull and Commissioner Dave Heil for a celebratory ribbon cutting for a one year anniversary.
Nomadic Nutrition celebrated its one-year anniversary May 17 with a ribbon cutting.
Local leaders went to the event to show support.
"I first learned about Nomadic Nutrition when somebody said, 'We don't have any place to eat in Rio Rancho.' So, I decided to list every restaurant in Rio Rancho on my Facebook page and somebody tagged me and said, 'Well what about nomadic nutrition?'" Mayor Gregg Hull said.
Hull added the community outreach Nomadic Nutrition does is great.
"I learned a little bit about what you're doing to in community outreach and how you're really integrating yourself into the community and making yourself known. That is exciting. When I see an entrepreneur, a small business individual reach out into the community and not just expect the community to come to you but you go out to the community that is a true entrepreneur. You go out looking for those opportunities and you take what you have out to the public," he said.
He also said that initiative is part of the "Rio Rancho spirit."
Sandoval County Commissioner Dave Heil agreed, saying the commission appreciates Nomadic Nutrition's investment.
"I'm part of the Kiwanis club and we have this program called Buy Rio Rancho, and so we're encouraging people to come over and buy it," he added.
Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce President Jerry Schalow said he hoped to see more locations in the future.
"Look forward to more great things and keep the fire going," he said.
Owner Deanna Rosemary recalled being pregnant with her youngest when the restaurant opened.
"I opened when I was very pregnant; I was 35 weeks pregnant with my youngest. So as my business turns one, so does my baby. It's full circle," she said.
She added she enjoys the community.
"We're not done impacting the community the way that we have. We're here to make Rio Rancho healthy. On top of the nutrition club, we do community group workouts that we host for free as well. So we're here to make Rio Rancho healthy and a better place and we just we love to call this home," she said.
She also says everything on the menu is going to offer a healthy benefit.
"We have over 80 different meal replacement shakes to choose from. We have some energizing drinks that boost your metabolism, helps with your digestive system. It's going to give you mental clarity, mental focus, but no crazy crash like energy drinks would do or stuff from like Starbucks that's heavy on sugar," she explained.
Nomadic Nutrition also has protein waffles and coffees. There is a kid's menu as well.
