Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, located on the Santa Ana Pueblo, announced Jan. 3 that it has received the 2023 Platinum Choice award by Smart Meetings, a leading magazine for event and meeting planners.

The awards honor the hospitality industry’s top-ranked venues and destinations that deliver the highest standard of overall excellence.

“We are honored to be recognized with such a prestigious accolade as the Smart Meetings Platinum Choice award,” said Chrisie Smith, director of Sales, Marketing and Events there. “Since the award is voted on by actual meeting planners and industry professionals, it is a testament to the premier event experiences we offer here at our beautiful New Mexico resort.”

The Platinum Choice Award winners were nominated and voted on by meeting professionals and judged to be the best-of-the-best of the industry.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa features 25,000-square-feet of outdoor and 29,000 square feet of indoor meeting space. Venues include the Cottonwood Pavilion, an elegant pavilion with floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened for indoor/outdoor purposes. Planners can also select from the House of the Hummingbird, a 7,500 square-foot lawn surrounded by a replica of indigenous ruins of the Native American Pueblo; the Sunrise Amphitheater, a natural outdoor amphitheater; and the Tamaya Ballroom, a 12,000 square-foot ballroom which can be portioned into eight separate rooms; and the Puma and Wolf rooms, which offer floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the Sandia Mountains.

Groups have access to several on-site activities including trail rides from the Stables at Tamaya where guests can explore the banks of the Rio Grande, the bosque cottonwood forest, and cultural sites including ancient petroglyphs on horseback. Planners can also arrange corporate social responsibility (CSR) and volunteer work through the resort’s Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation program, a 501(c)3 organization that provides shelter and care to unwanted horses throughout the state.
