Governing body approves site plan for Blake’s Lotaburger

The city of Rio Rancho Governing Body approved the site plan for a new Blake’s Lotaburger location at 2100 Unser Blvd. at the July 27 regular meeting as part of the Village and Cabezon Communities Master plan.

“I have looked at that parcel of dirt for many, many years. It’s all bladed and graded. Now it’s got infrastructure in. It’s amazing,” Mayor Gregg Hull said.

He added that he is excited for the Village to have its first entry.

The agent for Lotaburger acknowledged that there is a Blake’s located further down on Unser but that they expect there to be completely different crowds going there.

“That one is a popular one for the neighborhood. They love to walk there. I go in and have a burger from time to time. It’s amazing the amount of people that just walk up to that,” Hull said.

There is no indication of when the Lotaburger will be built yet.
