Danny Dines: Rebel Donut’s French Toast Donut
Daniel Zuniga

One of the best places in the metropolitan area to get donuts is Rebel Donut.

I’ve known that for years, and I got many inquiries reminding me that they are the gold standard for donuts.

Rebel Donut does not mess around when it comes to donuts. They had a Breaking Bad Donut, a Red Chile Chocolate Bacon Donut, the classic Homer Simpson Donut and many more.

Choosing a donut was very hard. I have had Rebel Donut before, but I wanted their most popular donut. I had to consult the experts.

Three employees told me the French Toast Donut was their most popular.

I ordered it, and it was magnificent.

The French Toast Donut is sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, square-shaped with maple drizzle and sweet buttercream.

According to the Rebel Donut website, the French Toast Donut will make you drool, and that assessment is pretty accurate.

I ordered some milk, and sat down to get to work. About 45 seconds later, I was done and I had a big smile on my face.

The French Toast Donut was soft, fresh and simply delicious. The donut itself tasted like fluffy french toast, and the cinnamon-sugar combination with the maple drizzle added a great amount of sweetness.

My favorite thing was that the donut was not covered in icing. I am just not an icing guy. However, this donut had just a butter-sized dab on top, and that was the perfect amount.

I was very, very pleased.

Journey to Rebel Donut; you will not be disappointed.
