Chicken Salad Chick set to open April 16

Chicken Salad Chick announced its first New Mexico location will open next month.

The location in a new shopping center on Unser near McMahon will open April 16 at 10:30 a.m.

“We are excited to bring the Chicken Salad Chick concept to Albuquerque because we know New Mexicans will welcome the craveable flavors and love our fresh, delicious and flavorful chicken salads,” owner and operator Jennifer Sanchez said in a statement in December. “Our construction kick-off last week is an important milestone to introduce Chicken Salad Chick to the community, and we are looking ahead to providing quality ingredients and spreading joy when we open this location in early spring.”

Early spring is here and the first 100 guests at the grand opening day receive free chicken salad for a year. Chicken Salad Chick will continue the giveaways as the week goes on.

The first New Mexico location is at 10621 Unser NW and will employ about 40 to 50 local staff members.

The Southern-inspired chain has locations across the South, Texas and other locations and offers 12 different flavors of chicken salad. The New Mexico franchise will offer green chile.
