BERNALILLO — In a road trip to Aztec, the Bernalillo Spartans kept their unbeaten streak alive by winning 62-12.

Quarterback Uriel Castro filled the stat sheets once again and threw for seven touchdown passes and threw 0 interceptions.

The Spartan defense logged multiple turnovers, including two fumble recoveries, and allowed less than 100 yards through the air.

Wide receiver Joseph Duran had another busy day which included four catches, 180-plus receiving yards, and a touchdown reception.

Running back Nathan Encinias scored two touchdowns: one as a receiver and one on a 89-yard punt return.

Tight end Ulisses Castro had the night cap again, catching the game-ending touchdown with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Bernalillo head coach John Cobos "Goonsquad" is still undefeated and have already clinched a high-seed in the state tournament.

However, therir toughest test lies in a road battle against undefeated Bloomfield (6-0) Oct. 18. The upcoming bout features the top-two teams in the district, and whoever wins would be the "de facto" district champ.
